Minced garlic
Diced bell peppet
Ground beef
Diced tomato
Kidney beans, drained
Black beans, drained
Tomato paste
Red wine
Chili powder
Salt and pepper


  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add onion, garlic, and bell pepper. Cook until vegetables are softened, about 5 minutes.
  2. Add ground beef to the pot. Cook, breaking up the meat with a spoon, until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Stir in diced tomatoes, kidney beans, black beans, tomato paste, red wine, chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  4. Bring the chili to a simmer. Reduce heat to low, cover, and let it simmer for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Serve hot, topped with shredded cheese, sour cream, and green onions if desired.
