Onion, diced

Bell pepper, diced
Kidney beans, drained and rinsed
Black beans, drained and rinsed
Diced tomatoes
Tomato paste
Beef broth
Chili powder
Smoked paprika
Dried oregano
Brown sugar

In a large pot or Dutch oven, brown the ground beef over medium heat until no longer pink. Drain any excess fat.

Add diced onion, minced garlic, and diced bell pepper to the pot. Cook until vegetables are softened, about 5 minutes.

Stir in the chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, and dried oregano. Cook for another 2 minutes until fragrant.

Add the diced tomatoes, tomato paste, beef broth, kidney beans, black beans, and brown sugar to the pot. Stir well to combine.

Bring the chili to a simmer and let it cook uncovered for about 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally, until flavors are well blended and the chili has thickened to your desired consistency.

Season with salt and pepper to taste. Adjust seasoning as needed.

Serve the chili hot, garnished with your favorite toppings if desired. Optional toppings: shredded cheese, sour cream, diced avocado, chopped cilantro.
