Southern Chili and Cornbread

"Southern Chili and Cornbread. The Chili I grew up eating in the South of North Carolina. You will go for 2nd servings. Simmering is what makes the chili. Not only is it good with cornbread, it is good with crackers or corn chips."

Directions

 

Brown beef, onions, bell peppers and minced garlic together until beef is brown. (If your beef has grease, drain it.)

When beef is brown, add drained beans, tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, water and  all spices. Allow to simmer for one hour. Hint: Taste the sauce to see  if you want to add more seasonings that will be fine. The longer a sauce simmers the better the flavor. When done, garnish with cheese, jalapeños and a drop of sour cream. Serve with cornbread, corn chips, crackers of your choice. Enjoy.

Garnish: Sour cream, cheddar cheese, or jalapeños
