Main Protein

ground hamburger 1 pound, 1 whole onion, 1 packet, 1 can, 1 can, 1 large can, 1 small can, 1 can, 1 can, 1 can, 2 tablespoons, to taste, to taste, to taste, to taste
sweet onion
Chili seasoning packet
light red kidney beans
Cannellini beans
Baked beans
tomato paste
diced tomatoes
stewed tomatoes
sweet corn (optional)
brown sugar
garlic powder
onion powder
smokehouse maple seasoning

  1. Dice onion and place into pot.
  2. Add hamburger to pot with onion and brown the burger, the onion will cook with the hamburger and give it extra flavor. (I prefer to cook on medium to medium-high temperature)
  3. Once burger is browned and onion is cooked to your liking, drain all grease.
  4. Add chili seasoning to burger and onion.
  5. Add kidney beans, cannellini beans and baked beans to pot with all juices.
  6. Add tomato paste, diced tomatoes and stewed tomatoes to pot with all juices.
  7. Add sweet corn (drained) to pot (optional.)
  8. Add honey and seasonings, simmer for 45 minutes to an hour. (I typically simmer on a medium temperature to start, stirring every few minutes and then lower it to a low simmer, stirring occasionally.)
  9. Serve with toppings of choice (shredded cheese, sour cream and fritos are my favorite!)
