Ingredients

IngredientQuantity
1/2 cup chopped onion 2 cups chopped celery, 1/2 lb ground turkey, 1 Tbsp cumin, 3/4 tsp smoked paprika, 1 15 oz can tomato sauce, 1/2 cup Cabernet Sauvignon
1 to 2 Tbsp olive oil
1 1/2 to 2 Tbsp chili powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1 15 oz can diced tomatoes
1 15 oz can red kidney beans

Directions

Note: This recipe works best with a medium size dutch oven.

saute 1/2 chopped onion and 2 cups chopped celery in a 1 to 2 tablespoons olive oil.  Saute until onions are soft and celery is slightly soft.

Add ground 1/2 pound ground turkey to the onions and celery and cook until throughly cooked.

Add 1 1/2 to 2 tablespoons chili powder, 1 tablespoon cumin, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika, 1/2 teaspoon oregano to ground turkey, celery, and onion mixture.

Add 1 -15 ounce can of diced tomatoes and 1 15-ounce can of tomato sauce to the turkey mixture.

Add 1 – 15 ounce can of red kidney beans or other beans if you prefer.

Add 1/2 cup Black Box Cabernet Sauvignon

Bring to a boil then simmer for at least 30 minutes.

Note: I simmer for 30 minutes then turn off the heat and let the chili cool down and then let the chili simmer until it again comes to a boil then shut-0ff the heat and let the chil cool down a bit.                                                                 For a more flavorful chili set the dutch oven in the refrigerator, (if you have glass shelves in your refrigerator set on a towel or a couple of hot pads).                                       When ready to serve take out of the refrigerator for a 15 minutes or so and then simmer until hot.

Sprinkle with cheese, tortilla chips, sour cream or whatever your preference.
