black beans, drained and rinsed
diced tomatoes with green chilis
sweet corn, drained
red bell pepper, diced
green bell pepper, diced
large onion, diced
garlic, minced
chili powder
smoked paprika
ground cumin
dried oregano
cayenne pepper (optional for heat)
Salt and pepper
chicken broth
fresh cilantro, chopped


  1. In a large pot, heat a drizzle of olive oil over medium heat. Add the onions and garlic, sautéing until translucent.
  2. Increase the heat to medium-high and add the ground turkey, cooking until browned.
  3. Stir in the chili powder, smoked paprika, cumin, oregano, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
  4. Add the red and green bell peppers, cooking for another 5 minutes.
  5. Pour in the diced tomatoes, black beans, sweet corn, and chicken broth. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Adjust seasonings to taste and stir in the fresh cilantro just before serving.
