Beanless Chili

"When I first met my husband, I wanted to make him my chili, but due to his bean allergy, We had to adjust the recipe. This is a chili recipe we created together & one that our whole family loves."

• 2 tablespoons vegetable oil • 1 yellow onion medium, finely chopped • 1 red, 1 yellow and 1 orange bell pepper stemmed, seeded and finely chopped • 3 packets Mccormick chili seasoning • 2 garlic cloves minced • 2 pounds ground beef 80% lean • Two 28 oz can diced tomatoes • One 28 oz can crushed tomatoes See below

• 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

 

• 1 yellow onion medium, finely chopped

 

• 1 red, 1 yellow and 1 orange bell pepper stemmed, seeded and finely chopped

 

• 3 packets Mccormick chili seasoning

 

• 2 garlic cloves minced

 

• 2 pounds ground beef 80% lean

 

• Two 28 oz can diced tomatoes

 

• One 28 oz can crushed tomatoes 

 

Instructions

 

• Heat the oil in a large Dutch oven over medium heat until it is shimmering. Add the onions, bell peppers and cook until the vegetables have softened, Stir in the garlic and cook for another 30 seconds.

 

• In a separate pan, cook the beef on medium-high. Cook, breaking up the beef until no longer pink, about 10 minutes. Drain. Add to dutch oven. Then, stir in the tomatoes (with their juice) and the chili seasoning packets. Bring to a simmer, then reduce the heat so it maintains a slow simmer, cover and cook for 45 minutes.

 

• Garnish with shredded cheddar cheese and sour cream.
